The program supports a proactive approach to drought by providing assistance to water managers to develop and update comprehensive drought plans, and implement projects that will build long-term resiliency to drought. - United States Bureau of Reclamation: Title XVI - Water Reclamation and Reuse

- California State Water Resources Control Board
California State Water Resources Control Board is the state's agency for ASR. The board states ASR projects will improve statewide water management by increasing local storage that will be responsive to the needs of local communities and environmental resources and will help California fulfill its vast conjunctive use potential. - City of Tampa, Florida
While most Florida communities rely extensively on the use of groundwater, Tampa uses surface water from the Hillsborough River Reservoir, as the primary supply. However, with ever-increasing water demands and seasonal variations in surface supply, it is difficult to provide for all of their customers' demands from this source alone. The City has a variety of innovative projects to improve the availability, quality, and reliability of water supplies including ASR. - Florida Department of Environmental Protection
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection oversees Class V injection wells in Florida. Thirty-seven ASR facilities are in operation in Florida. Some of the sites include reclaimed water ASR facilities. The department is working with other entities to characterize water-rock geochemistry during ASR at the bench scale and in the field. - Oregon Water Resources Department
Oregon Department of Water Resources is the state's lead agency for ASR. - South Florida Water Management District
Created in 1949, the South Florida Water Management District is a regional governmental agency that oversees the water resources in the southern half of the state, covering 16 counties and serving a population of 7.5 million residents. The website includes videos on ASR and links to other related information. - State of Washington
Washington's ASR program is managed by the Department of Ecology. Includes links to statutes and rule, current ASR projects, the application process, and contact information. - Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is the environmental agency for the state. ASR projects in Texas are regulated under the TCEQ’s Class V Injection Well Program. This website includes links for general information on ASR, an application form for ASR project authorization, and an applet that provides a user-friendly interface to help assess the feasibility of water recharge, storage, and recovery. - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency categorizes ASR wells as Class V underground injection control wells. This site provides information on regulations and impacts of ASR. - U.S. Geological Survey, California Water Science Center
The U.S. Geological Survey, California Water Science Center provides fundamental data and scientific analysis of water-related issues facing California. The center also provides information on ASR including scientific and technical concerns, water quality needs and effects, and physical aquifer characteristics. - U.S. Geological Survey, Kansas Water Science Center
The Equus Beds Aquifer Storage and Recovery Project involves pumping water out of the Little Arkansas River following periods of heavy rainfall, treating it to drinking-water quality, and injecting it into the Equus Beds aquifer, a major source of Wichita's water. The water is stored in the aquifer until it is needed.
